Misael Salazar, 51, a farm worker with the Fair Trade Certified cooperative, Bananeras de Urabá, has been working for over 4 years. He is currently a Banana Farmer and takes great pride in producing quality produce.
Before coming to Bananeras de Urabá, which he says "feels like a family," Misael worked at another farm with a very different reality. "We never had breaks, we were not paid overtime, and they did not give us water." At Bananeras de Urabá, he feels that farmers are valued.
